The 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership season will begin with Opening Round. Four exciting matches set to feature in Queensland and New South Wales after the success of the first-time ever event in 2024.
Beginning on Thursday, March 6, the four games for premiership points in Opening Round will be played the week before a traditional round one. 'Opening Round' will get under way on the Thursday night when Brisbane hosts Geelong at the Gabba, before heading to Sydney on the Friday night where Sydney will take on Hawthorn.
Gold Coast SUNS will then host Essendon at People First Stadium on Saturday afternoon, March 8, ahead of Greater Western Sydney Giants and taking on Collingwood at ENGIE Stadium on Sunday 9 March.
