One hundred years. One night. One stage.
On Saturday 29 August, Canberra Girls Grammar School (CGGS) invites you to the Centenary Gala Concert at Llewellyn Hall, a celebration of our School's rich Performing Arts legacy as told through the stories, voices and music of the women who have defined its past and inspire its future.
Expect an evening that spans genres and generations where over 200 current students and Grammarians are set to share a stage for a program as bold as the School itself.
Highlights include the orchestral tour de force, Danzon no. 2 by Arturo Marquez, the famous Eliza Aria from Elena Kats-Chernin’s Wild Swans ballet and three world premieres, including the first performance of Generations, a new school song specially commissioned for the occasion by acclaimed alumna Sally Whitwell.
This is CGGS's Centenary gift to the city it has grown up alongside—it is open to all in Canberra, everyone is welcome.
