Arrernte-Afro-Jamaican multidisciplinary artist SOLCHLD teams up with contemporary jazz project Callum Pask Trio to present their album Scarred and Sacred. Blending poetry and jazz, they invite you into a space of reflection and feeling; it's music for dim lights, deep breaths, and undivided attention, something to apply to your wounds, pour into your morning coffee, and let carry you softly into dreaming.
Dots+Loops Performance Fellows return to the stage alongside Matt Hsu's Obscure Orchestra, the musical project of multi-instrumentalist Matt Hsu, an anti-racist orchestral punk crafting multi-textured alchemy weaving together the warmth of bedroom pop, hip-hop's conscious punch, and the wild spark of experimental music into a daringly original whole. London-based Australian mezzo-soprano Lotte Betts-Dean brings the night to its climax with Voice Electric, a program exploring the vivid colours of the amplified human voice as it oscillates between states of being.
From the groundbreaking work of 20th Century composer Giacinto Scelsi, to works written especially for Lotte by Erin Gee,Mathis Saunier, and Dots+Loops' Co-Director Connor D'Netto, discover ambience and stillness, light and dark, wild and calm.
