F. Scott Fitzgerald's
THE GREAT GATSBY
This Melbourne Summer, you have an invitation to excess.
Can you repeat the past? Of course you can, old sport.
This summer, enter the world of Jay Gatsby as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s masterpiece comes roaring to the Melbourne stage for a strictly limited season.
Lavish parties. Dangerous desires. Devastating secrets. Welcome to New York, 1922, where fortunes buy fabulous evenings and everyone wants to be on the guest list.
At the centre of it all stands Gatsby: enigmatic, impossibly wealthy and throwing the kind of parties that make a city talk. When newcomer Nick Carraway enters his glittering orbit, he discovers that behind the champagne and spectacle lies a single obsession. Gatsby has built an extraordinary life to win back the only woman he has ever loved: Daisy Buchanan.
And he’s prepared to risk it all.
From the creative teams behind Frankenstein, 1984 and GRIMM, this sumptuous theatrical event brings the Jazz Age to life with cinematic staging, striking design and the intoxicating glamour of a world on the brink. Fitzgerald’s immortal story of ambition, privilege and desire unfolds on a grand scale, where every dazzling celebration carries the promise of disaster.
Dress for the occasion. Make a night of it. Surrender to a summer of champagne, scandal and impossible dreams.
The party is Gatsby’s. The invitation is yours.
