The Primary Schools Music Festival is a treasured South Australian tradition, presented by the Public Primary Schools Music Society in partnership with the Department for Education. Through music and the arts, the Festival brings students together to strive for excellence, embrace diversity and experience the joy of shared performance. Neuroscience is proving that children who are actively engaged in music develop improved memory and enhanced maths and language skills.
As thousands of young voices fill the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena, they continue a tradition that has endured for 135 years.
By the end of this season, more than 300 schools will have been represented. The Festival continues to evolve while remaining true to its purpose. Through music, students develop confidence, creativity, teamwork and communication skills, while experiencing the unique sense of connection that comes from performing together.
‘Stars in the Arena’ runs from Tuesday 15 September to Friday 18 September 2026.
