Bristol’s chart‑topping folk group The Longest Johns return to Australia and New Zealand in February / March 2027 with a brand‑new chapter in tow, the arrival of their latest studio album Ends of the Earth, a record that pushes their signature mix of irresistible harmonies, maritime folklore, and modern storytelling into bold new territory.

Known the world over for their rollicking harmonies and raucous energy that are blowing new wind into the sails of traditional sea shanties and work songs.

Formed in 2012 across a kitchen table in their native Bristol, they bonded over a passion for traditional maritime folk music, interwoven with a wry humour, a taste for all things digital. and a flair for their own songwriting; ancient meets modern down by the docks. They had their breakout moment in 2021, when their version of ‘Wellerman’ went viral on TikTok, sparking the ‘Shanty Tok’ craze that became a global resurgence in sea shanty music and saw the band sign to Decca Records. The Longest Johns have evolved from cult favourites into one of the UK’s most distinctive contemporary folk acts. Their catalogue now spans 12 albums, several EPs, viral hits, fan‑funded projects, and genre‑bending experiments including their acclaimed Pieces of Eight series and the immersive album/book project Voyage.

In 2026, the band JD DarleyAndy Yates, and Robbie Sattin set their sights on a new horizon. Ends of the Earth marks their most ambitious work yet: a sweeping, narrative‑driven album shaped by themes of exploration, resilience, and the human pull toward the unknown. Built with the support of their massive global fanbase, the record captures the raw vocal power and communal energy that have made their live shows legendary.

With sold‑out tours across the UK, Europe and North America, The Longest Johns return to Australia and New Zealand in 2027 ready to deliver a fresh voyage; louder, braver, and anchored by the new album that defines their next era. On stage, the trio command the room with infectious harmonies, magnetic energy and unmistakable on‑stage chemistry.
