Meredith O’Reilly became unwell whilst holidaying in London. Whilst she is now on the mend, she will unfortunately not be well enough to join this year’s production of Christmas in the Grandparents Club.
We are delighted to announce that the role of Maria will now be played by the wonderful Leigh Archer. A multi-talented and much loved performer, Leigh is an accomplished singer, dancer and comedian who has received rave reviews for her key roles including Grease, Cats and West Side Story”.
A Christmas celebration created for Grandparents… and loved by everyone.
Christmas in the Grandparents Club is the brand-new chapter in The Grandparents Club trilogy.
Starring the Grandparent Heroes audiences across Australia have come to know and love — Gold and Silver Logie winner Lynne McGranger, Wayne Scott Kermond, Andrew James and Leigh Archer — this hilarious new musical comedy celebrates the joy, heart and hilarious mayhem of family Christmas.
This time, the gang are juggling all the chaos that comes with the lead-up to The Big Day — impossible gift wish lists, complicated dietary requirements, synchronised family arrivals, keeping Christmas diplomacy intact and enough last-minute drama to test even the most organised Grandparent — when they sneak away to support Jimmy Bigelow’s very important pre-Christmas Event.
What could possibly go wrong?
Let’s be honest, Christmas Day is mostly love… with a side of damage control.
Packed with highly relatable family mayhem, wonderfully retro music, huge laughs and plenty of Christmas spirit, Christmas in the Grandparents Club is a heartwarming and hilarious celebration of the generation that somehow holds Christmas together.
Whether you’re reconnecting with our Grandparent Heroes or meeting them for the very first time, this joyous 90-minute musical comedy will leave you laughing, reminiscing and humming the songs long after Christmas.
