From humble beginnings in Hampstead, London, to his early days fronting Simon K and the Meantimers, Kennie’s career has spanned studio sessions at Abbey Road, Northern Soul classics, and a lifetime of performance. But it was one life-changing phone call — an invitation to join Hot Chocolate for a show in Düsseldorf — that set him on a global journey with the legendary group.

“We went on stage and the place erupted,” recalls Kennie. “They all thought it was Errol Brown. The show went down fantastically well — and that night, the band asked me to become their new singer. I’ve been with them ever since.” Since that night, Kennie has carried the Hot Chocolate torch across continents — from Australia to Abu Dhabi — performing for sold-out crowds and new generations of fans. His passion for music remains undimmed.

“Music is the spice of life,” says Kennie. “Once it’s in you, it never leaves you.
