In conversation with Sean Jacobs

Driving Three Kings is no ordinary political memoir. Since 1995, Louise Waterhouse has proudly served Tonga – the only uncolonised Pacific nation – as Honorary Consul-General, a role held by her father, Bill, before her. Drawing on fifty years of her family’s engagement with Tonga, Waterhouse charts the nation’s rapid rise on the global stage, bringing rich personal insight and lively anecdotes – including Tonga’s debut at the 2024 Winter Olympics and Waterhouse’s claim to fame as the only person to have driven all three modern Tongan kings.
