More than a decade after breaking into the scene, multiplatinum duo MKTO have announced their return with a 2025 Australian Tour presented by MRG Live. The pair will be taking to the stage at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Thursday October 30th, before hitting Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Friday October 31st.

Consisting of Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller, MKTO blur the lines between pop and R&B with timeless charisma, effusive confidence, and an enviable level of swagger. Their debut single, ‘Thank You’, took Australia by storm and established their standing as the country’s new favourite pop act, adored particularly among young music lovers for their rebellious and spirited energy. With the 2012 debut becoming just one of the four ARIA Top 40 Singles the pair would reveal in the subsequent rollout for their first and only full-length album, MKTO’s momentum from the get-go was a sight to behold.

Following ‘Thank You’ with further ARIA Top 40 singles including their worldwide breakout ‘Classic’ (which also cracked the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100), as well as ‘God Only Knows’ and ‘American Dream’, the 2014 self-titled debut album MKTO saw them transformed into a global sensation with platinum and gold certifications in Australia, the US, the UK, New Zealand, Sweden and Denmark.

The pair went on to perform their track ‘Classic’ live on stage with Taylor Swift for her 1989 World Tour, to collaborate with the likes of Simple Plan on their international hit single ‘Summer Paradise’, and to play sold out shows around the world, including across their 2014 Australian tour. With their self-titled album reaching #1 on ARIA Album Charts, the band formed an unwavering bond with their Australian audience from the earliest days of their career. Without any new music releases in over five years now, MKTO maintain nearly 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and over 1 million Youtube subscribers.

After a near decade hiatus from major touring, Tony and Malcolm have confirmed their return to the stage in 2025 for a series of festival, fair and college performances in both the US and Australia. With nostalgic fans sharing and rediscovering their music through TikTok and a recent resurgence of pop culture references, it’s safe to say that MKTO are entering their ‘Classic’ era in 2025.
